A Few Words About Your New Roof

A new roof can be one of the most valuable investment you make in your home or business.  Even before you own your home outright by paying off your mortgage, you have a financial stake in your home that makes it worthwhile to spend money on improvements. A new roof is a major improvement that can quickly add value to your home.

Your roof is about 40% of the curb appeal of your home plus it is the protection for everything inside your house.  A new roof can add between 15 and 40 percent to the value of your home. This means that a $100,000 home can become a $140,000 property simply with the addition of a new, modern roof. It also indicates that the more a home is worth, the more value it stands to gain from a new roof.

There are a number of things to consider when selecting a new roof system for your home or business. Things like, cost, durability, aesthetics and architectural style are important, Also the things you do not see are just as important. Things like certain types of underlayment used can save you on the cost of your insurance year after year. The quality of the products used is a big factor on the lifetime of your new roof. The more years you get from a new roof the less your cost pre year will be.

Start dates are not set in stone. We just have no control over the weather and when it rains roofing get delayed.

Step 7.
Removing Your Existing Roof(s)
Tearing off an existing roof can be a loud and dangerous process. There is a lot of weight coming off of your home all removed by hand, about 10,000 lbs on average. All of the material has to come off and is placed either directly into a dump trailer or into ground dumpster. It is important to understand that we do this every day, and that many homeowners only have a roof done once or twice in their lives. So again, if there are any questions or concerns please give us a call at 352 754-8600 and we will be able to answer any questions you may have.

Step 7a.  Continued
Removing Your Existing Roof(s) And Finding Bad Wood
During the removal of your existing roof is the first time where the original roof deck is exposed,  and we are able to assess the type and amount of wood that should be replaced if any at all. Many homes require little to no new wood, while others could need large sections replaced, this mainly depends on the condition of the old roof, as far as undetected leaks went unnoticed and over time you end up with rotted wood. Not all leaks make it into your house. On average about 40% of our customers need no new wood at all.  In the contract we state how much we charge for hidden wood damage.
